President Donald Trump is expected to leave the White House on Thursday to thank troops and D.C. law enforcement patrolling the city, a White House official confirmed to NBC News.

The White House is working on the location, timing and other logistics now, the official said.

Trump called in to a radio show hosted by Newsmax host Todd Starnes on Thursday morning and spoke about his plans.

“I’m gonna be going out tonight I think with the police and with the military, of course. So, we’re gonna do a job. The National Guard is great. They’ve done a fantastic job,” he said.

Trump’s public schedule says he's set to sign executive orders in the Oval Office at 3 p.m.
