BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull is preparing for a major upgrade to its maternity services aimed at improving care for Brooklyn families.
The $20 million renovation of the hospital’s Labor and Birthing Suite, which includes $11 million from Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, marks a significant investment in maternal health in the borough.
The project officially began Thursday, symbolized by Reynoso and others breaking through a wall with a ceremonial sledgehammer—a gesture that signals the start of a new era for maternity care at Woodhull.
Dr. Wendy Wilcox, Chief of OB/GYN at the hospital, expressed excitement about the expanded facilities that will include a new alongside birthing center, a labor and delivery unit, and state-of-the-art operating rooms
