JACKSON, Ky. — Hundreds of people gathered in Jackson as family and loved ones laid to rest 10-year-old Jayden Spicer.

A visitation and memorial service were held at Breathitt Funeral Home followed by a burial in Canoe, Kentucky.

Spicer was found dead last week after being reported missing on Aug. 6. On Thursday, communities from across eastern Kentucky paid their respects and carried on Jayden’s memory.

At least 50 different first responder units escorted the boy to his final resting place.

Hundreds gathered at the Breathitt Funeral Home to pay their respects.

“It’s a sad day today. This little man, he deserves justice,” said Shawn Wallace.

Wallace, a father of three, came from Harlan County to pay his respects to a little boy he didn’t know.
