An Abilene man who previously worked as an educator in Kingsville was arrested Aug. 15 on a federal charge of accessing child pornography.

Robert Jerome Custer, 56, previously worked as an educator and counselor in Abilene, Kingsville, Barksdale in Central Texas and Palestine in Northeast Texas, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Custer was not employed as a teacher or counselor at the time of his arrest.

A DPS investigator learned about Custer after arresting another man, Miguel Angel Estrada, who had uploaded child sexual abuse videos to a website, according to a statement of probable cause written by an agent of the Homeland Security Investigations agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
