Police have responded to a report of an active shooter on Villanova University’s campus in Pennsylvania, prompting a lockdown on campus that sent students scrambling to seek shelter.

Students received an alert Thursday afternoon to lock and barricade doors. Another alert advised people to avoid the law school area.

Radnor Township police later posted on social media that police were clearing buildings but said there were no reported victims.

Videos on social media showed crowds being rushed inside campus buildings.

New student orientation and registration started Thursday and will continue until Saturday.

Villanova University is a private Catholic university near Philadelphia.
