Assumption High School’s quest for a third straight state championship in girls volleyball has not started the way veteran coach Ron Kordes would have planned.

“We have been riddled with injuries throughout our program,” Kordes said. “The hope is that it’s happening early and hopefully not later.”

Despite the injuries, Assumption is ranked No. 1 in the state in the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association’s preseason top 25.
