SILOAM SPRINGS -- State Sen. Tyler Dees, R-Siloam Springs, will run for a second term in Senate District 35, he confirmed Wednesday.

Senate District 35 starts at the state line in the north and extends along the western state boundary in Benton County to as far south as the Murrow community in Washington County. The district extends far enough east to take in portions of western Fayetteville.

Dees, 38, faced no Democratic Party opposition in his first election in 2022, defeating Libertarian Doug Peterson of Prairie Grove. This was Dees' first time as a candidate. Dees won the Republican primary in a runoff to win the Republican nomination that year. He is the first candidate to announce for the seat this year.
