KANSAS CITY, Kan. —
A man who promised to secure tens of millions of dollars for two major Kansas City-area hotel projects pleaded guilty to wire fraud Thursday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kansas.
David Ingram, 73, also agreed to pay more than $5.7 million in restitution as part of a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Advertisement
As part of that deal, Ingram pleaded guilty to one of four felony wire fraud counts against him.
“Mr. Ingram is accepting responsibility for his actions today by his plea and wants to move forward and put this behind him,” said Justin Johnston, Ingram’s attorney.
“There is corruption going on and we need to bring that out to the public because nobody knows it,” said Scott Harding, a Wyandotte County activist.
