WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) - Westlake police said a high-speed pursuit ended with the arrest of two Cleveland men. The investigation revealed the suspects had more than one reason to run from police.

It was just after 2 a.m. on August 17 that officers began pursuing a stolen SUV with fictitious plates.

Authorities on the west side had been alerted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol that troopers tried to stop the SUV on westbound I-90 but had just terminated their chase.

Authorities said the driver had no regard for safety as he raced up and down streets along the border of Westlake and Bay Village at up to 85 miles per hour.

But the chase came to a sudden end at Columbia and Wolf Road, when the driver made a right turn, hit a curb and went off the roadway.
