The conditions of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Sacramento are under the microscope of city leaders and California Congresswoman Doris Matsui.

On Wednesday, both Matsui and the city of Sacramento sent letters requesting an inspection of the facility located at the John E. Moss Federal Building located at the Capitol Mall. The letter written by the city included a signature from Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty.

Both letters said the Moss Building is reportedly being used to detain people overnight in poor conditions that include limited water, lack of food, lack of access to restrooms, inadequate ventilation and denial of beds.
