AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Avondale police confirmed Thursday that two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy that happened back in June.

According to the department, Gabriel Valenzuela Diego, 19, and Nicholas Rodriguez Jr, 19, were arrested on Wednesday on accusations of first-degree murder, among other felony charges.

Avondale PD said the teen victim, who has not been identified, was found shot in a neighborhood near 108th Avenue and Flanagan Street , just south of Buckeye Road, on June 1.

Booking records revealed that both suspects are facing armed robbery and sale of a firearm charges, while Diego also faces one count of misconduct involving weapons.

Details surrounding what led up to the shooting have not yet been released.
