AKRON, Ohio – Akron’s Community AIDS Network/Akron Pride Initiative (CANAPI) this week announced that the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) did not renew grant funds for two of its housing programs.

The organization learned last week that HUD did not renew $331,000 in grant funds for the MICAH Project and Lavender Landing. The MICAH Project is a rapid rehousing program that provides rental assistance to people living with HIV who are facing homelessness. Lavender Landing is a collection of programs that help homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ young adults achieve housing stability.
