CONWAY, Ark. - The Conway School District has joined a class-action lawsuit against several social media giants, alleging that the companies knowingly harm children while continuing to market their platforms to youth.
General Counsel Shastady Wagner said the district was contacted by Motley Rice, a South Carolina-based law firm involved in similar litigation nationwide.
“They reached out because they believed that these claims, which are social media harm students, are based on these platforms,” Wagner said.
She added that the platforms at the center of the lawsuit include Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok.
