Plans for a Starship Troopers reboot may currently be underway, but another of Robert A. Heinlein’s classic books is now set to receive its first movie adaptation. Often credited as one of the key authors responsible for popularizing science fiction in the mid-20th century, Heinlein’s seminal 1959 novel formed the basis of Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 movie of the same name.

Despite the lackluster critical and commercial response to the release of Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers , it would still go on to generate a cult following and spawn a series of low-budget sequels animated movies, games and other spinoff media. Earlier this year, it was announced that District 9 director Neil Blomkamp has been tapped to lead a fresh reboot of the property.
