Recall vote set for 2 Valley city officials

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Voters in Valley will get to decide whether they want to oust the mayor and city council president.

First Alert 6 has learned the petition received the required number of signatures to put the recall to a vote.

The petition circulator alleges Mayor Cindy Grove violated open meeting laws and created a hostile work environment, and that City Council President John Batcher prioritized special interests over his job as a public servant.

Batcher has said he remains committed to serving the community.

Grove said she’ll stand by her record no matter what happens.

The Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian Kruse said the recall election will be “by mail” in November.
