San Bernardino County Mountains, Riverside County Mountains and San Diego County Mountains were placed under an updated heat advisory by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. The advisory is in effect until Friday Aug. 22, at 8 p.m.

According to the NWS San Diego CA , “Temperatures up to 102 degrees for elevations below 5500 feet expected.”

“Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses,” according to the NWS.

Drink water: Drinking plenty of water frequently is vital for those exposed to heat. An individual may produce as much as 2 to 3 gallons of sweat per day. To replenish that fluid you should drink 3 to 4 cups of water every hour.
