Denise Richards is publicly addressing her divorce for the first time.

The 54-year-old actress and her husband of six years Aaron Phypers split up earlier this summer and their divorce has been tumultuous since.

In a new Instagram video shared on Thursday (August 21), Denise spoke out about what she’s been going through for the past couple of months.

“I was just checking in to see how your summer’s been going,” she started out. “Mine’s been wonderful. It’s actually been sh-itty, but I’m going to pretend like it’s all good. I’ve actually been posting on Instagram like nothing’s going on in my life, and I can’t do that anymore because there’s something obviously going on.”

She went on to acknowledge the kindness and support she has received from many fans online.
