Trenton’s 120 East State nonprofit is accepting submissions for its “Climbing Higher, Soaring Together 2025 Music Contest ” until next month’s deadline.

The nonprofit, which aims to transform Trenton’s historic First Presbyterian Church complex into a multipurpose community-centered hub, believes that music has the power to uplift, inspire and unite others.

“Whether it’s a soulful ballad, a foot-stomping anthem, a serene instrumental, or an experimental beat that captures the feeling of togetherness, this is your moment to soar through sound,” a statement from 120 East State reads.

Musicians are asked to submit an original song no longer than three minutes that emulates or represents the spirit of hope, possibility, community, and transformation, according to the nonprofit’s webs
