PROVIDENCE – The state is mourning the loss of Judge Frank Caprio, who died Aug. 20 at the age of 88.

Caprio's son, David, posted a video to Caprio's Instagram page sharing the news on Wednesday, Aug. 20, stating that his father died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

“On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, your thoughts, and your unwavering support for him throughout his journey” David said. “Your love lifted him in ways that words could not describe.”
