CLARIDON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A rural Geauga County intersection slated for safety improvements has been the site of nearly 30 crashes since 2020, including two fatal wrecks in the past six months, according to state records.
Ohio State Highway Patrol data shows 29 crashes at Route 608 and Chardon-Windsor Road between 2020 and August 2025. That includes two fatal crashes, three with serious injuries, 16 involving suspected or possible minor injuries, and eight that caused only property damage.
The most recent crash occurred Aug. 16, when two vehicles collided and rolled over . Donny Grigsby Sr., 46, of Chardon, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the patrol. Two others were taken to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
