Village Express Donuts is facing challenges outside of its clear display glass — burglary. The small business has been trying to keep afloat after multiple break-ins.
Located in Tahoe Park, the beloved Sacramento neighborhood staple has been around for 25 years.
Early Wednesday morning, security footage showed two thieves smashing the front door and trying to steal an ATM, before stealing the cash register.
"[It] made me upset right away, because, [it's been] too many times," owner Beng Lee Kok said. "No one can stop it."
Lee expressed the difficulties of running a small business, noting that each burglary is a significant setback.
"That's the hard [part of] the business. [It's] harder this month from July, August, September, October. That's a very hard time for
