The Sacramento Kings are working hard to trade Malik Monk this offseason. As per NBA insider Grant Afseth, they did not find any team willing to take him. The Kings reportedly offered him to the Golden State Warriors for Jonathan Kuminga, but the Warriors declined.
The Kings have emerged as favorite to sign free agent Russell Westbrook . If signed, the veteran point guard would likely come off the bench as the sixth man behind new addition Dennis Schroder. Monk played well last season. He averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists over 65 games, but his shooting struggles and salary may hold back trade interest.
