BEIJING (Reuters) -China released on Friday interim measures for the control and management of its rare earths mining, smelting and separation activities.

This came after that the world’s dominant supplier of the critical minerals that are key to electric vehicles, wind turbines and defence sectors began in February a public consultation on new regulations designed to protect its domestic rare earths industry.
