HENDERSON, Ky. — Kentucky and Indiana have reached a pivotal agreement to advance the I-69 Ohio River Crossing, a $933 million project to build a new four-lane bridge connecting Henderson, Kentucky and Evansville, Indiana, state leaders announced Aug. 14.
The Kentucky Public Transportation Infrastructure Authority approved a financial plan and resolution for a bi-state development agreement, marking a significant step toward constructing the bridge, known as Section 2 of the project.
The agreement, involving the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, KPTIA, the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Indiana Finance Authority, outlines financing, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the bridge and Veterans Memorial Parkway.
