Hit-and-run driver strikes woman and children in Eden Prairie crosswalk

Authorities are hunting a hit-and-run driver who struck a woman and two children in an Eden Prairie crosswalk, leaving one child critically injured.

The hit-and-run happened around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Mitchell Road and Chestnut Drive, where a woman was crossing Mitchell Road with four young children, pulling a wagon containing two of them.

The driver of a white sedan traveling north on Mitchell hit the woman and the two kids in the wagon, before fleeing the scene.

All three were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, with one child critically hurt, and the woman and other child suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle is asked to call 911.
