EXCLUSIVE: Films Boutique has boarded sales rights on Aleksandr Sokurov’s Director’s Diary , ahead of its world premiere out of competition at Venice Film Festival next week.
The film will have its debut on Thursday, August 28 at the PalaBiennale venue.
Documentary Director’s Diary runs to 305 minutes. The synopsis from the film team describes it as ‘a unique reading of the history of the second half of the twentieth century.’
The Russian-language film is produced by Sokurov and Alena Sumakova for Russia’s Example of Intonation Foundation, with Paolo Maria Spina for Revolver and Giuseppe Lepore for Bielle Re, both of Italy.
Sokurov won the Golden Lion at Venice in 2011 for Faust , also sold by Films Boutique.
