YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)-- The York County Coroner's Office responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 83 on Friday morning.

According to a spokesperson from PennDOT, a single-vehicle crashed through the gate at a weigh station on I-83 southbound in the early morning of August 22. PennDOT confirmed the incident was fatal.

The York County Coroner confirmed they responded to the scene, but could not provide additional information at this time.

According to 511PA, crews responded to the scene at 2:15 a.m. A shoulder of the roadway remains closed but is expected to reopen soon.
