A substitute teacher in Union County has been charged with offenses against children, authorities said.
Tory James, 23, of Plainfield, was arrested on Friday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and promoting obscene material to a child under 18, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a Thursday statement.
James is a substitute teacher at Queen City Academy Charter School and a mentor at the Queen City Mentoring Academy, both in Plainfield.
Prosecutors did not detail his alleged actions that led to the charges and did not say whether any victims are associated with either of his jobs. A spokesperson for the school did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
