A 26-year-old British man has tragically died after being pulled unconscious from the sea in Rhodes. The incident occurred on August 16, off the coast of Lindos, a popular tourist destination on the island. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts, the man could not be revived and was pronounced dead shortly after at the Archangelos Health Centre.

The local port authority confirmed they were aware of the situation involving a young foreigner. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway, with an autopsy ordered by the Forensic Medical Service.

In a statement, the UK Foreign Office expressed their condolences, saying, "We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Greece and are in contact with the local authorities."

This incident follows another recent tragedy involving a British pensioner who was found dead in a cruise ship pool in Naples. The 83-year-old Scottish man was discovered lifeless in the Marella Voyager's pool while the ship was docked. Despite attempts by holidaymakers and crew to resuscitate him, he could not be saved. Italian authorities have since boarded the vessel, which was temporarily impounded for investigation, causing significant delays to its scheduled departure.

Additionally, just weeks prior, a British grandfather, Craig Bloomer, aged 54, died in a moped accident while on holiday in Corfu. He was enjoying a family trip with his daughters and grandchildren when he lost control of the moped near Agios Mattheos on July 26. His family described him as a "much-loved" grandad who was experiencing happiness on this holiday, having lost his wife to cancer two years earlier.

These incidents highlight the risks faced by tourists abroad, particularly in popular holiday destinations like Greece.
