A South Carolina man is accused of stealing nearly $1 million from his grandmother.

On Thursday, Indiana State Police arrested 54-year-old Eric Dyer following a 4 year investigation.

Dyer was named the power of attorney over his grandmother, who resided in an assisted living center in Jefferson County.

Bank records show that between 2022 and 2024, Dyer allegedly withdrew a large amount of money from the victim’s accounts for his personal use.

Investigators also learned that Dyer was behind in paying the victim’s assisted living facility’s monthly balance.

He is facing multiple felony counts, including elder abuse.
