Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani criticized Mayor Eric Adams’ administration Friday, calling attention to corruption and outlining his policy priorities during a one-on-one interview on “Mornings On 1.”
The conversation came one day after Adams’ longtime confidante and former chief adviser, Ingrid Lewis-Martin, was indicted on charges of accepting more than $75,000 in bribes during her time at City Hall.
Mamdani said the indictment illustrated a pattern of “pay-to-play politics” under Adams.
“If you look at DA Alvin Bragg’s case, he lays out very clearly that this is a city for sale, and it’s the same city that New Yorkers can’t afford,” he said.
