OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Emergency crews responded after a car caught on fire Thursday evening on Interstate 80 in Omaha.

According to the Omaha Police Department, the incident happened just after 7 p.m. Thursday on I-80 just north of I Street.

OPD says a man and a woman were driving when they saw a cat was hit by a car. When they pulled over to help, their vehicle caught fire.

Neither of the people in the car were hurt, police say, but the cat died.
