When a parent is sick, children may not offer adequate care or support.

Children may prioritize their own activities over caring for their sick parent.

When someone is sick in the house and it’s you, the care you receive is questionable.

In other words, the family might believe that a miracle will happen and you’ll be fine in an hour and ready to make dinner. This might even happen if you fall down the stairs, break an ankle and have to crawl around the house.
