Plymouth Township ― Nearing the end of its fourth year, LIV Golf still is striving to be taken seriously ― to be viewed as a legitimate sports outfit. One of the major reasons it's struggled to gain that credibility is because its tournaments still aren't recognized by the Official World Golf Ranking.

That's a problem, because the OWGR appears hesitant to award the points until LIV Golf is taken more seriously.

Scott O'Neil, the new CEO of LIV Golf, which wraps up its 2025 season with its team championship this week at The Cardinal at Saint John's Resort, said recently he's hopeful to resolve the rankings issue soon. LIV Golf has applied multiple times to become eligible for rankings points, most recently in June.
