YONKERS, N.Y. — Multiple people were injured Wednesday when a car crashed into a building in Yonkers .

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at a Montefiore Medical Group building on Central Park Avenue when the SUV careened about 20 feet into the lobby.

The Ford Explorer driver, passenger and three employees who were not in the car were injured. They were transported to a hospital. The driver was described as critically injured.

Yonkers Fire Department officials said the driver and her husband were seriously injured.

Assistant Fire Chief James Kenny said the woman, who was described as an older person, was trapped after the building’s front door came through the windshield and pinned her to the seat. Firefighters were able to go through
