GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska State Fair kicked off Friday morning with its Opening Ceremony, featuring remarks from Governor Jim Pillen, Congressman Don Bacon and State Fair officials.

This year’s theme, “Showcase Your Fair Face,” highlights the community spirit that makes the fair a tradition. Executive Director Jamie Parr said months of planning and feedback go into shaping the event each year.

“There’s a lot of strength work happening now, but each year right after the fair, we review our feedback from our guests, vendors, exhibitors, the staff team and our Fair Board,” Parr said. “We assess what kind of changes and improvements we can make for next year’s Fair and then we start working on it right away.”
