LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- President Donald Trump said Friday he will fire Federal Reserve Governor and Michigan State University professor of economics Lisa Cook over mortgage-fraud allegations if she refuses to resign.
"Yeah, I'll fire her if she doesn't resign," Trump told reporters. "What she did was bad. So I'll fire her if she doesn't resign."
Trump first called for Cook's resignation on Wednesday after Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, a Trump ally, accused her of claiming two different primary residences. In a series of posts on social media platform X, Pulte shared documents bearing Cook's signature for a Michigan home and another described as an "Atlanta condo."
