ICBC has been ordered to reimburse an injured person $7,700 for mileage expenses incurred travelling to and from medical appointments.

Franklin Gaughan was injured in an accident in December 2021 and received benefits under ICBC’s no-fault insurance scheme for various treatments and rehabilitation, such as doctor-prescribed sessions for physiotherapy, massage, chiropractor and kinesiology, according to a written decision from a B.C. civil resolution tribunal member, Alissa Reynolds.

ICBC told the tribunal Gaughan was reimbursed $455.84 for travel expenses to attend physio and massage treatments from December 2023 to May 2024 but said it hadn’t received further mileage expense submissions since then.
