Producers have learned it's best not to wait until the last weeks of December to release their prestige pictures.

"Anora," you may remember, came out in October after a debut at the Cannes Film Festival. It won five Oscars, shutting out "A Complete Unknown" and stunting the first part of "Wicked."

This year, there's plenty of buzz about Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen, Ethan Hawke as Lorenz Hart and Billy Zane as Marlon Brando. All three films arrive before the holiday film season.

Those guys from "Spinal Tap" are back, "Kiss of the Spider Woman," the musical, appears and Leonardo DiCaprio switches his loyalty from Martin Scorsese to Paul Thomas Anderson in "One Battle After Another."
