MUSKEGON, Mich. — Residents of West Michigan, particularly those in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Kalamazoo, will see a flyover consisting of vintage World War II aircraft this Labor Day.

"The Wings of Honor" flyover will feature history in the skies, as aircraft from the Michigan Flight Museum in Belleville and Muskegon’s Hooligans Flight Team take flight.

Aircraft included will be:

A B-25 bomber like the ones used in Col. Jimmy Doolittle’s “Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo” raid in 1942.

A C-47 transport, like the ones that dropped the “Band of Brothers” into France that kicked off the D-Day invasion.

A 34 Mentor and L-17 Navion, aircraft essential to training a generation of military pilots.

The flyover will begin around 11:45 a.m. when the aircraft take off from the Michigan Flight Museum
