Lyle and Erik Menendez murdered their parents, José and Kitty Menendez , on the evening of Aug. 20, 1989, in their Beverly Hills home.

Each armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, Lyle, then 21, and Erik, then 18, shot their dad and mom over a dozen times. They fired at José at point-blank range and kept shooting Kitty as she was trying to flee.
