After the Desert Hot Springs defense stopped Rubidoux on the 2-yard line on the first drive of the game Thursday night, the Golden Eagles' offense trotted on the field for its first play of the 2025 season.
Quarterback Jaylen Turner pitched the ball to the right to tailback Dominick Ambal, who raced around the edge, found a seam and took it 98 yards for a touchdown. If the first play of a new season is an omen, Desert Hot Springs may be in for a fun year.
