A new collaborative art piece is on display at the Royal BC Museum.
The display features artists from the Garth Homer Society as well as creatives from the broader Victoria area.
Garden City Arts is a mosaic piece assembled from 69 individual canvases. When assembled, the artwork symbolizes a collective effort to advocate for more inclusiveness and accessibility in public spaces and areas.
“The piece makes me feel positive, reflecting positivity,” says Garth Homer Society Artworks program artist, Ashley Fraser.
“The event made me feel kind of like we are all part of a big family, so to speak.”
It was first created at the Paint the Town event in May to recognize Red Shirt Day, a national movement that advocates for accessibility.
