GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Organizers expect more than 15,000 attendees for the American Quilter’s Society’s return to downtown Grand Rapids this weekend.

The 12th annual quilt show kicked off Aug. 20 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 23 at the DeVos Place Convention Center, 303 Monroe Ave. NW.

There are quilt shows in multiple cities across the country each year. Thanks to generous sponsors, organizers say “these events make an indelible mark on the fiber art community by offering the largest cash prizes for quilters in the country,” according to the American Quilter’s Society website, highlighting the event .

Key highlights of the Grand Rapids event include nearly 700 quilts to browse, contests featuring up to $54,550 in cash awards, themed exhibits, a Merchant Mall featuring over 180 vendor
