Fire lines, water drops and retardant helped slow the spread of the Corral Creek Fire outside Missoula on Thursday, according to a Friday morning update from the Type 3 incident commander team battling the blaze.

The lightning-caused fire, first reported on Wednesday, was mapped at 221 acres up the Albert Creek drainage, about 6 miles southwest of Frenchtown.
