Lansing first responders recover body from Mississippi river; no foul play suspected

LANSING, Iowa — A tragic event unfolded overnight at S&S Houseboat Rentals in Lansing. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 12:21 am first responders, including the Lansing Police Department, Lansing Emergency Medical Services, and the Lansing Fire Department, recovered the body of a 63-year-old man from Wisconsin from the Mississippi River. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the man's name to notify his family. No foul play is suspected, though the Lansing Police Department is continuing its investigation.
