A casino chip found in an unusual area inside York Hollywood casino led to an investigation and criminal charges against a 42-year-old dealer accused of pocketing thousands in chips.

The chips are small discs used as currency in casinos for games such as poker, blackjack or roulette.

Eric Sagnor, of Lancaster County, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and taking, claiming or manipulating with the intent to defraud or cheat, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Pennsylvania State Police.

The thefts occurred between March 30 and April 28 at York Hollywood casino at 2899 Whiteford Road in Springettsbury Township, according to police.
