Karen Gillan ( Selfie ) is set to join the cast of the upcoming Highlander remake, directed by Chad Stahelski ( John Wick ) and produced by Amazon MGM. Other cast members include Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, and Marisa Abela.

The 1986 film was about Connor MacLeod, "a Medieval Scottish Highlander who discovers he is an immortal warrior". In this remake, Gillan is playing the wife of Cavill's MacLeod.

The film begins production in September in Scotland, Gillan's native country. She retweeted the news along with a cheeky addition:
