Social workers at Los Angeles General Medical Center asked for the public’s help Friday in identifying a man in his 50s who has been hospitalized since earlier this week.

The man, whom witnesses said goes by the name “Shorty,” was found Tuesday on Fifth Street in Los Angeles, according to the medical center’s Department of Social Work.

He is believed to be 56 years old and is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 121 pounds with black-and-gray hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information that could help authorities identify the man was urged to call the caseworker assigned to him at 323-409-6884 or the medical center’s Department of Social Work at 323-409-5253.
