Beloved actress Valerie Harper, born Aug. 22, 1939, in Suffern, N.Y., and best-known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' from 1970-74 and her spin-off 'Rhoda' from 1974-78, died on Aug. 30, 2019, from cancer. Harper received four Emmys and a Golden Globe for her role on both shows as well as numerous other award nominations and wins for the large and small screens throughout her career spanning over five decades. She was 80.
